ON THE ISSUE OF ORGANIC
An interactive project looking at the rampant spread information and misinformation about organic foods.
An interactive communication piece around a "food crisis" issue.
The first portion of the project was dedicated to researching our selected topic. What I found about organic during that time was startling. People may think that organic food is pure, pesticide, preservative, and hormone free but this isn't the case. Instead of getting the proper facts from scientific studies and research, people more often than not go with hearsay to determine their eating choices. In the case of organic food, this means a lot more money spent on a product that may or may not have all the benefits that it so claims.
We as consumers have access to a wealth of information that informs the choices we make. We each curate our own understanding of this information. Eventually and inevitably, through our interaction with others and our innate, natural desire to share knowledge and experiences, we become dedicated to the rapid spread of one's curated and personal version of that information.
